Volunteers in Medicine Clinic (VIM) is located in downtown Wilkes-Barre at 190 North Pennsylvania Avenue. The full service free medical and dental clinic opened its doors in June of 2008. The clinic provides primary and preventative medical and dental care to low income families of Luzerne County, PA who otherwise have no access to medical care and cannot afford health insurance. VIM has reached its original objectives of providing primary care and has focused on expanding services to become a medical home. The free Dental Clinic at Volunteers in Medicine opened in January of 2011. The mission of the VIM dental clinic is to provide dental disease prevention, education, diagnosis and treatment. Our team of Hygienists’ perform routine cleanings to patients and provide information on dental techniques for a healthy mouth. The clinic also has Dental Assistants’ who volunteer and assist the Dentist with procedures and services. The VIM staff of licensed medical and non-medical volunteers offer their time and expertise to provide quality, compassionate care to our neighbors in need.
